“The Houdini of the Hardwood” Bob Cousy was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1971. Cousy won six NBA championships with the Boston Celtics and was the league MVP in 1957. Cousy led the NBA in assists for eight consecutive seasons (1953-60) and was named to the NBA’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. His No. 14 is retired by the Boston Celtics. Remnants of the Horace Partridge label inside the neck. Team name (CELTICS) arched across the chest, and on each sleeve is a team clover logo - all done in green on golden satin sewn onto the garment. Player name (COUSY) is done in golden satin on a green satin nameplate buttoned across the back. On the inside of the left side of the warm-up jacket is a pocket. This warm-up jacket is properly tagged, presented to us as player-worn and in our opinion shows appropriate wear. Accompanied by an LOP which explains that this jacket was a family heirloom gifted directly by Cousy to a relative, who was a sports reporter and friends with Cousy during the late ‘50’s and early ‘60’s.
