In 1986 Roger Clemens was the best pitcher in baseball, registering a 24-4 overall record, with a 2.38 ERA and 238 strikeouts in 254 innings. He also threw 10 complete games. Clemens wore this jersey during that great 1986 season when he won the American League Cy Young Award, and the American League Most Valuable Player Award. On the front left tail is the Wilson manufacturer’s tag size “44” with washing instructions. Adjacent below is a box tag reading the year “86”. Across the chest reads “RED SOX” and on the back is the player number “21” both in red on navy blue tackle twill. Clemens signed inside the neck in blue marker and in our opinion rates a strong 8. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by an ALOA from JSA.
