As a rookie, Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant earned himself a reputation as a high-flyer and quickly became a fan favorite by winning the 1997 Slam Dunk Contest. Bryant led the Lakers to three consecutive NBA championships from 2000 to 2002 and was awarded the regular season’s MVP in 2008. After losing in the 2008 NBA Finals, Bryant led the Lakers to two consecutive championships in 2009 and 2010, earning the NBA Finals MVP Award on both occasions. Kobe is the all-time leading scorer in Lakers franchise history and Sporting News named Bryant the top NBA player of the 2000’s. On the front left tail is the Champion manufacturer’s tag size “44” with washing instructions. Adjacent is the “DESIGNED & TAILORED 96/97 EXCLUSIVELY FOR LOS ANGELES LAKERS BODY LENGTH +3” tag. Across the chest reads “LAKERS”. The player number “8” appears below and on the back and across the back is the player name “BRYANT”. All numbering and lettering is done in purple on white tackle twill. On the upper left chest is the official “NBA” logo embroidered in gold. Also included are a pair of shorts size “38” with the “Designed & Tailored Exclusively” tag with the player number “8” and “KB” handwritten in black marker. A Bryant signature is on the jersey and shorts in black marker however JSA was unable to authenticate. This uniform is properly tagged, presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate wear. Accompanied by an additional LOA.
