The Ryan Express was inducted into Cooperstown in 1999, on the first ballot, with 98.8% voting. He was the rarest of breeds and pinnacle of dominance combined with longevity. In 1973, he finished the season with 383 strikeouts - a career high and record for the modern era, beating out his idol Sandy Koufax by one. His accolades include: 1969 WS Champ, 8x All-Star, 2x NL ERA leader, 11x Strikeout leader, 7 career no-hitters, a member of the MLB All-Century Team and his No. 30 retired by the LA Angels. On the front left tail of this white knit, is the McAULIFFE label, with size (44) label below and a year (1973) label adjacent. Team name (Angels) across the front, player number (30) below that and on the back, and player name (RYAN) across the back - all done in red on navy tackle twill. Angels logo patch on the left sleeve. This jersey is properly tagged, presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding wear with dirt stains throughout.
