Affectionately called "The White Rat", Herzog earned respect in baseball for his superb managerial skills. He was voted "Manager of the Year" by the BBWAA in 1985 for leading the Cardinals to the NL pennant. On the inside right tail is the "Rawlings" label and size "44" and adjacent is the flag tag reading "Set 1 1983." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Cardinals" in script style letters made of red on blue embroidered stitch. Going through the letter "C" is a gold embroidered bat with a red embroidered Cardinal perched on each end. On the back of the jersey is a white nameplate with the name "Herzog." Below this is the player number "24." Both the name and the number are made of red on blue tackle twill. The jersey shows wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
