A two-time MVP and known as the best catcher in major league history, Johnny Bench led the league in HRs twice and RBIs three times. His Cincinnati Reds dominated the NL in the 1970s winning four pennants and back-to-back world championships in 1975-76. This jersey features outstanding use with pilling on both sides from the catcher’s chest protector, pine tar staining to the left shoulder which is a common trait of Bench, yellowing to the body and the inside underarms have been tinged red. On the inside front right tail is the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag size “44” with washing instructions. Attached is a flag tag reading “SET 1 1977”. On the left chest is a “REDS” logo patch in white chain-stitching on red tackle twill. On the right chest and on the back is the player number “5” and across the back is the player name “BENCH” all done in red tackle twill. Bench signed the front of the jersey in blue marker and in our opinion rates a 9. This jersey is in beautiful unimprovable condition, is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a Photo-Match.com LOA grading the jersey a perfect 10 and a Full LOA from JSA.
