Eight members of the 1919 Chicago White Sox were charged with conspiring to fix the outcome of the 1919 Fall Classic against the Cincinnati Reds that was later dubbed the "Black Sox Scandal". The players had purportedly arranged to receive their bribes in five $20,000 installments, one after each loss, but the gamblers had failed to deliver the full amount. After game 5, the furious ballplayers supposedly called off the fix and resolved to play to win for the rest of the series. This 1919 World Series ticket stub is from game 6 which was the third game played at Redland Field, a game the White Sox won 5-4 over the Reds and would later win game 7 before losing the series. The stub has been professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA a GOOD 2. This is a pop 1 stub with only 2 graded higher from one of the most famous scandals in baseball history.
