HOFer, Dan Fouts spent his entire career with the SD Chargers - ‘82 Offensive POTY, 6x Pro Bowler, 4x NFL passing yards leader and 2x NFL passing touchdowns leader. Fouts first used this jersey on Sept. 16 against the Houston Oilers, where he threw for 336 yards on 26 completions in the 31-14 victory. Fouts then threw for 268 yards on 22 completions in the Chargers' 27-24 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sept. 30. On Oct. 30, Fouts used this jersey against the Los Angeles Raiders, throwing 410 yards and 3 touchdowns on 24 completions in a high-scoring 44-37 loss. Finally, on Nov. 18, Fouts had arguably one of the best games of his season against the Miami Dolphins, throwing 4 touchdowns with 380 passing yards and 37 completions in the 34-28 victory. His performance that day against the Dolphins, which included a fourth-quarter comeback for the Chargers led by Fouts, gave the Chargers an overtime win that ended the Dolphins' 11-game win streak. Across those four games, Fouts had 109 completions for 1,394 yards and 7 touchdowns. On the front left tail of this blue mesh jersey, are dual Sand-Knit labels. One is with exclusivity and the other, with size 50. Player number (14) is screened on the front/back and both sleeves, in yellow and white. Player name (FOUTS) is done in yellow vinyl on a blue nameplate across the back. Chargers ORIGINAL AMERICAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE TEAM SILVER ANNIVERSARY patch on the left breast. Collar custom hemmed. This jersey is properly tagged, presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent wear. Accompanied by a letter from Sports Investors confirming the aforementioned matches, which also states in part: plus four undated photos and an "apparent match" to Nov. 11, 1984. The best Fouts that is known to exist.
