Before Artis Gilmore’s rise to fame in the ABA and NBA in the 1970s and 80s he started his career at Gardner–Webb Junior College in the late 1960s. Under coach Eddie Holbrook, Gilmore led Gardner-Webb to two back to back NJCAA tournaments in 1968 and 1969. After his success at the NJCAA level Gilmore transferred to Jacksonville University which led to two more successful seasons. In 2024 Artis Gilmore was inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame due to his 2 seasons with Gardner-Webb where he averaged 22.5 points and 16 rebounds with career totals of 1,530 points and 1,150 rebounds. This size 15 (43g / 1.5oz) 2024 NJCAA Hall of Fame ring was presented to Artis Gilmore. The face of the ring features multiple CZs surrounding the NJCAA logo.
