In 1971 Artis Gilmore was named Consensus National Player of the Year and an All-American from Jacksonville University. After this season he would go on to get picked by the Kentucky Colonels in the ABA/NBA draft. Gilmore’s college success would lead to an 18 year long ABA and NBA career. This size 12.5 (22g / .80oz) ring was presented to Artis Gilmore. The face of the ring reads “Jacksonville University” surrounding a synthetic emerald with an “A” in the center. The left side reads “BS” with “Est. 1934” above various educational imagery. The right side reads “1971 Dolphins” with highly detailed engraving of a bridge and a dolphin. The inner section of the ring reads “AG” with “John Roberts 10K’ on the opposite side. The condition of the ring is excellent. This item comes directly from Artis Gilmore and is accompanied by his LOA.
