Before his NCAA and professional career Artis Gilmore started at Gardner–Webb Junior College in the late 1960s in the NCJAA. Gilmore led Gardner-Webb to two back to back NCJAA tournaments in 1968 and 1969. He was the star player alongside future NBA player George Adams. Gilmore and Adams are two of only four players in Gardner-Webb University history to ever make the NBA draft. This size 15 (32 / 1.15oz) ring was presented to Artis Gilmore. The center of the ring features a CZ atop a synthetic ruby surrounded by the text “Gardner-Webb University” and “Hall of Fame”. The left side reads “Bulldog Athletics” with the logo below. The right side reads “Gilmore” with a basketball engraving. At the bottom of the left and right side Gilmore’s two years at the school are represented by “1967” and “1969” appearing respectively on the bottom of each side. The inner section of the ring has the manufacturer’s mark of “YLTM”. The condition of the ring is excellent. Accompanied by the original Balfour box. This item comes directly from Artis Gilmore and is accompanied by his LOA.
