Artis Gilmore’s 18 year career in both the NBA and ABA is filled with many league records. He made significant contributions to the Kentucky Colonels, the Chicago Bulls and the San Antonio Spurs. Before his collegiate and professional career Gilmore played for Carver High School in Dothan, Alabama. Shortly after his Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame induction, Gilmore was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. This size 15 (33g / 1.2oz) ring was presented to Artis Gilmore. Featured in the center of the ring is a CZ surrounded by a synthetic sapphire. Around the center piece reads “Alabama Sports Hall of Fame”. The left side reads “Gilmore” with the ASHOF logo beneath. The right side reads “2012” with the words “Dedication, Class, Pride” around an emblem with “All Time Greats” beneath. The inner section of the ring reads “Artis Gilmore” with the manufacturers mark “Balfour 10K” beneath. The ring shows minor signs of wear.The award consists of a metal seal and name plate mounted onto a wood plaque. The piece measures approximately 10.5”x13” in total.
