The USFL was a short lived professional football league that was active from 1983 until 1986. Many USFL players such as Herschel Walker, Doug Flutie, Reggie White, Sam Mills, Jim Kelly, Gary Zimmerman and Steve Young transitioned to the NFL after the bankruptcy of the league. The USFL was innovative in some ways, such as being the first football league to use “instant replay”, but the league quickly dissolved after a failed lawsuit against the NFL in which they were awarded $1 in damages. During the 3 years of the league’s existence the Philadelphia/Baltimore Stars won 2 of the 3 championship titles. This ring from the 1984 Philadelphia Stars Championship was presented to our consignor’s family who was a part of the ownership group. The size 11 10k ring features the team's logo with a faux diamond on the front and the name “Cohen” on the left side. The inner stamp reads “10K Jostens”. Included is the original box with the Stars logo and “1984 USFL Champions” printed on the inside of the lid. The ring and box are in good condition overall. Accompanied by an LOP from the family.
