A starter most of his career, "Pete" Ramos became an unexpected sensation in September 1964 after being traded from the Indians to the Yankees. In 13 appearances for the Yanks, all in relief, Ramos saved eight games and posted a 1.25 ERA, helping them to win the Pennant. Ramos struck out 21 batters and walked no one. Handwritten in black on the front left tail is the year (64). Inside the back collar is the MacGregor manufacturer label with size 44. Below is a felt swatch that had player number (14) but the second digit has a hole at the top. Player number (17) is done in navy blue felt on the back, which is a number change, with the outline of original number (14) faintly visible. This jersey is properly tagged, presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate wear.
