Hall of Famer Lynn Swann helped the Pittsburgh Steelers to five conference championships and four Super Bowl titles in his first six seasons. Swann was named All-Pro, Super Bowl X MVP, and the Steelers cemented their legacy as the team of the decade. Swann was named First Team All-70’s, and was inducted into both the College and Professional Football Hall of Fame. After a 12-4 regular season the 1979 Steelers went on to win Super Bowl XIV 31-19 over Los Angeles. On the front left tail is the Sand-Knit manufacturers tag size “42” with washing instructions that is partially detached. Adjacent above is the “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the PITTSBURGH STEELERS”. Adjacent to the left is a box tag reading the year “79”. Across the front, back and on both sleeves is the player number “88” in white tackle twill. The nameplate on back was likely incorrectly restored and has been removed. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate wear.
