The late Bernie “Boom Boom” Geoffrion was a key component of the Montreal Canadiens dynasty that won the Stanley Cup six times in the 1950s, including a record five in a row from 1956-60. Geoffrion, the second player to score 50 goals in the NHL, passed away the day his jersey No. 5 was retired by the Montreal Canadiens in 2006. Presented is the Hall Of Famers photo-matched Montreal Canadiens wool jersey. Attached inside the collar is the Raymond Sporting Goods manufacturer’s tag. This wool jersey was obtained at the Montreal Forum in the early 1960s. The tie down neck is missing the tie string. Across the front is the original Canadiens team logo crest in red, white and blue felt and across the back is the original player number “5” in white on blue felt. The player number “5” is also on both sleeves and on the upper left chest is the alternate captain’s “A” logo in white on blue twill which were all added after Geoffrion wore it. Numerous repairs are present throughout the jersey on the sleeves and back as well as unrepaired holes which do not detract from the beauty of this relic. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a Photo-Match.com LOA confirming the match.
