The first medal is made of 10k gold, measures 1-3/4” x 1-1/2”, weighs 16 grams and was presented to long-distance swimmer Walter Pomeroy. The top portion of the medal features the YMCA “Triangle” logo and a pair of wings with “YMCA” in relief. The reverse side is stamped “10K BALDWIN JEWELRY CO.” and houses the pin used to wear the medal. The lower portion of the medal features a swimmer mid-stroke along with decorative leaves. The medal reads “P.A.A. of A.A.V. Champonship” in relief. The reverse side is engraved “W. POMROY 13:13 880 YDS. AUG. 25, ’11”. The medal is in NRMT condition and displays beautifully. The second medal is made of 10k gold, measures 1-1/4” x 1-1/4”, weighs 13 grams and was presented to long-distance swimmer Walter Pomeroy. The front of the medal features a red “O” with wings, the logo of The Olympic Club in San Francisco. Behind that is a silver laurel with a ribbon on top of a brass cross. The reverse side is hand-engraved “1914 MEDAL OF MERIT AWARDED TO W.M. Pomeroy”. The medal is in NRMT condition and displays beautifully.
