In 1986 HOFer Dennis Johnson won his third career NBA championship, and his second as a Boston Celtic. This two-tiered wooden trophy was presented to Johnson that season by the Boston Globe to commemorate his sportsmanship in the NBA. The bottom tier depicts a smiling Johnson with his name, “Dennis Johnson” inscribed to the left and his team, “Boston Celtic”, to the right. On the upper pedestal is inscribed “JACK BARRY MEMORIAL AWARD FOR SPORTSMANSHIP 1986 PRESENTED BY THE BOSTON GLOBE”. On each corner of the lower tier is a golden eagle with the top of the trophy holding a gold statue of a dunking Johnson. The trophy measures 10-1/2” x 10-1/2” x 17-1/2” and is in VG-EX condition.
