The team was founded on June 5, 1967, after Jack Kent Cooke was awarded an NHL expansion franchise for Los Angeles on February 9, 1966, becoming one of the six teams that began play as part of the 1967 NHL expansion. HOFer - Terry Sawchuck played 21 seasons in the NHL, was a 4x Vezina Trophy winner, 4x Stanley Cup Champ, and was elected to the Hockey HOF the year after his final season, an extreme rarity. At the time of his death, Sawchuk was the all-time leader among NHL goaltenders with 447 wins and with 103 shutouts. Inside the back left tail of this eye-catching purple and gold durene jersey, is the Rawlings size 46 label, with an adjacent wash label. Kings Crown crest on the chest (showing signs of age and wear). Player number (30) on the back and sleeves, done in golden tackle twill with nice wear and puckering. This jersey is properly tagged, presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent wear - absolute beauty.
