HOFer, Gaylord Perry's consistent excellence resulted in 314 victories, two Cy Young Awards and an incredible 5,350 innings pitched. He was the first to win the Cy Young Award in both leagues, winning in 1972 with the Indians and in 1978 with the Padres. He mixed an outstanding fastball and curve with a spitball, real or imagined. In 1978, he won Cy Young honours turning 40 years old! Inside the back of the neck of this one year style jersey, is the Wilson size 48 label, with wash instructions. On the front left tail, is a yellow swatch with: 36 78 chain stitched in brown. “SAN DIEGO padres” across the chest, player number (36) below that and on the back, and player name (PERRY) on a yellow nameplate across the back - all done in brown tackle twill. The ‘78 ASG patch has been removed from the left sleeve and the neck is custom altered as per player specification, common to Perry. This jersey is properly tagged, presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent wear.
