After establishing a Hall-of-Fame-worthy career in Japan, Ichiro Suzuki took little time to prove he was as legitimate as it gets. In his first season with the Seattle Mariners, Suzuki earned the American League Rookie of the Year Award and the AL MVP. Suzuki led the league in hits, stolen bases and batting average, and for good measure earned a Gold Glove Award. Then in 2004 (the year of this jersey), he broke George Sisler’s hits record of 257 from 1920, with an astounding 262 - good luck breaking that one. Now also a first ballot Baseball HOFer. On the front left tail is the Russell Athletic manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Below is a tag with the year, “2004” printed on it and a flag tag that reads, “46 100% POLYESTER”. Team name (MARINERS) across the chest, player number (51) below that and on the back, and player name (ICHIRO) on a navy blue nameplate across the back - identifiers all done in silver on navy on teal triple tackle twill. Mariners disc patch on the left sleeve and MLB logo patch on the back of the neck. This jersey is properly tagged, presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate wear. Accompanied by an additional letter from MEARS.
