These are handwritten notes by baseball catcher and CIA agent Moe Berg, widely considered the "strangest man ever to play baseball," Berg is remembered not only for his career in baseball but also for his brief service as a spy for the United States during World War II. In 1952, Berg was recruited by the CIA to leverage his World War II connections and gather intelligence on Soviet atomic research. Despite receiving $10,000 plus expenses, Berg’s mission was a failure. The notes are written in Berg's difficult-to-read handwriting, on both sides of the October 27, 1951, Weekly Bulletin of Princeton University measuring approximately 11x17. The document includes numerous names and numbers, some of which appear cryptic. The document remains in very good condition overall with some paper loss and fading. Accompanied by an RR Auction COA, Hake’s COA, and an ALOA from JSA.
