9 Days before the assassination of John F. Kennedy, Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson visited supporters in the small town of Welch, West Virginia. The letter featured is addressed to Welch attorney Samuel Solins, a friend and supporter of Solins, Johnson and Kennedy. Solins hosted Johnson’s visit to the town and the letter is a thank you in regards to that. Solins would go on to be an early donor for the Kennedy Presidential library. Johnson’s autograph appears in black ink and in our opinion the signature rates a 9. Framed in the display alongside the letter is the original envelope and a picture of Johnson and Kennedy. The piece in total measures approximately 20”x14”. Accompanied by an ALOA from JSA.
