Hillerich & Bradsby Thurman Munson S44 pro model bat - 35” / 30.2oz. Numerous ball marks, cleat marks and black shoe polish scuffs, red and blue bat rack streaks, moderate pine tar and the knob has been blacked out with marker. The PSA/DNA letter states in part: The subject bat was obtained from former Twins clubhouse attendant Jim Dunn. According to Dunn the bat was used by Graig Nettles, who darkened the knob, in all likelihood, covering Munson’s number ‘15’. Knowing the history of the bat we cannot eliminate the possibility the bat was also used by Munson. Both he and Nettles used the S44 model. We are told the following by our consignor: This bat was in the bat rack at the time of the captain's untimely death. Graig Nettles took the bat, blacked out the "15" on the knob (as both he and Munson used model S44). He used the bat briefly before gifting it to the Twins clubhouse attendant who sold it to our consignor, where it has been in his collection since late August 1979.This bat is properly marked, presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a letter from PSA/DNA.
