This MacGregor PC2 model catcher's glove was used by Gary Carter in 1989, his last season with the New York Mets. It was with the Mets that Carter distinguished himself as a team leader, guiding the Mets toward a dominant 1986 season that concluded with their first World Championship since 1969. The glove shows game use and is signed in blue Sharpie on the inside next to the pocket. The blue Sharpie signature and inscription, which rate an 8 due to slight bleeding, read "My last catcher's glove as a N.Y. Met Gary Carter 1989 Catch Ya Later".
