The number "17" on this game-worn Mark Grace Cubs road knit jersey is Grace's tribute to his idol Keith Hernandez, whom he succeeded as the best all-around first baseman in the NL in the 1990s. In addition to his three Gold Gloves, "Amazing" Grace collected 1,854 hits and 364 doubles in the decade, the most in baseball, and his .331 mark in 1996 was the best by any Cub in 20 years. In the neck is a white label with "17-46-95 Set 3" for the player number, size, year and set number. On the left front tail is the "Russell Athletic" label and size "46." Across the front is the Cubs logo and the player number "17" which also appears on the back. The logo and numbers are made of red on blue on white tackle twill. On the back is "Grace" in blue on white tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind, and comes with an additional certificate of authenticity.
