Jacques Laperriere entered the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens back in the early 1960s, winning the Calder award as the league’s top rookie in 1964 and the Norris trophy as the best defenceman in 1966. Jacques helped the Canadiens win six Stanley Cups between 1965 and 1973. Laperriere’s excellence received the ultimate validation in 1987 when he was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame. Presented is Laperriere’s photo-matched sweater from circa 1963. Across the front of this wool sweater is the original Canadiens team logo crest in red, white and blue tackle twill. The tie down neck is missing the tie string. The player number “26” is on both sleeves and the back in white on blue tackle twill. Numerous repairs are on the back and sleeves with heavy general wear overall with pilling. This sweater has been photo-matched to a promotional photo Laperriere appeared in. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a Photo-Match.com LOA confirming the match and a Selby Colson LOA.
