Cal Ripken Jr. is considered one of the best shortstops and third basemen to ever play the game. During his 21 year career with the Baltimore Orioles, Ripken pioneered the way for taller, larger shortstops to be successful in that position. A two-time MVP, 19-time All-Star and Rookie of the Year winner, Ripken Jr. was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007 on the first ballot. This American Baseball Cap Company manufactured size “7 3-8” helmet was worn by Ripken circa 1995. The helmet shows excellent use and the interior padding is intact. An Orioles team decal is on the front and the player number “8” decal is on the bill. Ripken signed the bill of the helmet in silver marker and in our opinion rates an 8 despite some smudging. The helmet is accompanied by a J.T. Sports LOA and a Full JSA LOA.
