Ted Green wore this black durene jersey during the 1971-72 Stanley Cup winning season, his last as a member of the Boston Bruins. Green played in 2 NHL All-Star games and was named a 2nd Team NHL All-Star in 1969. Green is well known for having suffered one of the worst injuries in NHL history. In the 1969-70 pre-season he engaged in a stick swinging duel with Wayne Maki of the St. Louis Blues and suffered a fractured skull that left him paralyzed and near death. Green shocked the hockey world as he returned to the NHL, playing with a metal plate in his skull. On the front of this tie-down jersey is the Bruins team logo crest. The player number “6” appears on both sleeves and on the back in yellow on white tackle twill. The game wear on this black durene consists of stick marks, board burns, pilling, and numerous repairs throughout. The Wilson tag is missing from the collar and the alternate captain “A” logo appears to be removed. Offered here is a stunning all-original black example that was worn by this NHL All-Star during his only Stanley Cup winning season and his last as a member of the Boston Bruins. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use.
