Manon Rheaume achieved a number of historic firsts during her career, including becoming the first woman to play in any of the major North American pro-sports leagues. In 1992, Rheaume signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL, appearing in preseason exhibition games in 1992 and 1993. She also played on the Canada women's national ice hockey team, winning gold medals at the IIHF Women's World Championship in 1992 and 1994, and the silver medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics. Presented is Rheaume’s jersey worn while representing Team Canada at the Three Nations Cup in 1996. Attached inside the collar is the ProWear manufacturer’s tag and a size “56G” flag tag. Across the front is the Canada team logo crest. The player number “1” is on both sleeves as well as the back in red on black tackle twill. Across the back is the player name “RHEAUME” in red tackle twill on a white nameplate. Puck and stick marks and loosening of the thread on the identifiers is present. The fight strap is intact. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
