“The Great One” is the leading point-scorer in NHL history, with more assists than any other player has points, and is the only NHL player to total over 200 points in one season – a feat he accomplished four times. In addition, he tallied over 100 points in 16 professional seasons, 14 of them consecutive. After his retirement in 1999, he was immediately inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, making him the most recent player to have the waiting period waived. The NHL retired his jersey number 99 league-wide, making him the only player to receive this honor. Gretzky wore this jersey during the 1992 All-Star game as a member of the Campbell Conference. Gretzky wore three different jerseys during the game, and the offered one has been conclusively photo-matched to the first period where he scored a goal. As part of the NHL's 75th anniversary celebrations, the league used modernized versions of the All-Star uniforms worn between 1947 and 1959. Attached inside the collar is the Maska manufacturer’s flag tag with jersey materials. Adjacent is an additional flag tag reading the size “54”. On the inside right tail is a black strip of velcro, a documented Gretzky trait and the fight strap has been cut out. On the upper left chest is the Captain's “C” logo and across the chest are 5 stars all of which are done in white tackle twill. On the upper right chest is the “NHL 75” anniversary patch. Across the front is a large “NHL” shield logo crest in red and white tackle twill. Across the back on a red nameplate is the player name “GRETZKY” and below is the player number “99” in white tackle twill. On the back left and right tails are “CCM” and “NHL” logos. Gretzky signed inside the front of the jersey on the verso of the NHL crest in black marker with the added inscriptions “99” and “1992” and in our opinion rates a strong 9. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a Photo-Match.com LOA confirming the match and a Full JSA LOA.
