Franco Harris was a first-round draft choice of the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers in 1972, and was named the league's rookie of the year after gaining 1,055 yards on 188 carries, a 5.6 average. He rushed for 10 touchdowns and scored 3 on pass receptions. Harris was involved in one of pro football's most famous plays, the "immaculate reception" in the American Football Conference playoffs after that season. Harris won four Super Bowls with the Steelers and was named Super Bowl MVP in Super Bowl IX. The Sporting News has named one of the top 100 football players of All-Time. Harris was chosen for 9 consecutive Pro Bowls, from 1972 through 1980. The offered Rawlings manufactured size “7-3/8-7-1/2” helmet features Harris’ number “32” decals on the front and back. The chin strap is intact with the player number “32” handwritten on it as well as inside the shell. The Steelers team logo decal is on the right side. Numerous marks are present throughout the shell. There is only a small amount of padding remaining attached however all of the removed padding has been kept and will be included with this lot. The left clip on the facemask is broken. A rare game-used helmet from a Steeler great and Hall of Famer.
