This original “Babe Comes Home” handbill measures approximately 6.75x5.5” and depicts Babe Ruth on both sides. All memorabilia relating to the “Babe Comes Home” is incredibly rare. The film itself has been lost and this is one of the visual pieces to survive. One side depicts Ruth with a bat and reads “Hurray he’s in the movies NOW” along with information. The verso depicts Ruth sliding. “Babe Comes Home” was the second feature film to star the Yankees legendary slugger and it was released in sound, so that for the first time fans could hear the Babe speak on screen. The film was produced in 1927, to capitalize on his record-breaking performance that season. Expected vintage aging and creasing are present however the handbill displays well.
