On March 3, 1973 Muhammad Ali and Ken Norton met in San Diego for what would become only the second loss in Ali's professional career. When Norton won the NABF heavyweight title from Ali he also succeded in doing something else. At some point during the 12 round fight one of Norton's jabs managed to break Ali's jaw. This is an original x-ray taken at the hospital of Ali's broken jaw. In the upper right hand corner is identification information that, when held up to the light, reads "ALI, MUHAMMAD< 4-2-73", and has other information used by the hospital. The x-ray has been signed by both Ali and Norton in gold paint pen and the signatures both rate a strong 8 to 9. The x-ray is in overall excellent condition and measures 10"x12"
