This is a very unique piece of theater and sports memorabilia. It is a 32 x 40 inch one sheet linen-backed poster of John L. Sullivan's theatrical debut in a romantic drama written by Edmund E. Price called "The Man From Boston." Sullivan is portrayed walking with two fashionably dressed women and conversing with two gentlemen. The well-dressed man in the top hat and tails is Capt. Hardcourt and the ballplayer is said to be Hall of Fame first baseman Cap Anson. This colorful theater poster is beautifully detailed and in excellent condition.
