On the opening day of the baseball season, each team puts forth its best starting pitcher to have its best chance of earning a win. Because of this, it is considered a great compliment for a pitcher to get the nod on opening day. This OAL Bobby Brown baseball was used in Tom Seaver's record-setting 15th opening day start. This particular record labels Seaver as consistently being the ace of the pitching staff to which he belonged. The inscription "Record 15 Opening Day Starts 4-9-85" is printed on the sweet spot of the ball in blue ink. Seaver autographed the ball on the side panel and the signature and inscription, which rate an 8, read "To Greg- Go White Sox! Tom Seaver."
