Two-time US Open Champion Payne Stewart was a class act who played a gentleman's game. His grace in winning and poise in defeat made Stewart an exemplary competitor on tour. Unfortunately, like many of the greats of our time, his life was tragically cut short in a plane accident in October 1999. In the rear waistband of the knickers is a “Payne Stewart” custom tag. On the front right of the waistband is a size “34” flag tag and a flag tag with washing instructions. On the left thigh reads “TOP FLITE” embroidered in white. There are multiple small holes throughout the knickers. In the rear sweatband of the cap is the Cloverdale manufacturer’s tag with an attached flag reading size “L” and also with cap materials and washing instructions. On the back of the cap is the “Payne Stewart” logo and on the front of the cap reads “TOP FLITE” both embroidered. Stewart signed the top of the cap in black marker and in our opinion the signature rates a 7. These knickers and cap are properly tagged, were presented to us as tournament-worn and show use.
