Donnie Butcher was Willis Reed’s predecessor on the New York Knicks and he also wore number 19. It is a stretch but within the realm of possibility that Reed wore this jersey in his rookie year with the team. On the left front tail is the “MacGregor” manufacturer’s tag, which is partially torn and unreadable. Next to that is a wash instructions tag. Across the front is "NEW YORK" in blue on orange tackle twill. Below on front and on back is the player number "19" in orange on white tackle twill. The jersey exhibits tremendous game-use showing multiple seasons of use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
