On November 30, 1955, at the Boston Garden, Carmen Basilio defended his welterweight boxing title against Tony DeMarco—the same fighter he had won it from. The match was so exciting it was named "Fight of the Year" by Ring Magazine. Basilio won by stopping DeMarco in the 12th round. This is the original Hickok Belt monthly award that was given to Basilio for that victory. The belt is made of alligator leather and features a 10-karat gold buckle. The back of the buckle is engraved with "Carmen Basilio November 1955," and the front has the Hickok emblem along with Basilio's initials. The belt is 38 inches long and is in near mint condition. Accompanied by an LOA from Craig Hamilton and an LOA from Gary Murphy - Basilio’s nephew.
