HOFer, Artis Gilmore is regarded as maybe the most dominant physical force basketball has ever seen, behind Wilt & Shaq. After dominating the ABA, this uniform is from one of his 6 NBA All-Star appearances. 1979 was the first NBA All-Star game held in a football or baseball dome, as the Pistons were playing in the Silverdome at the time. Some other notable participants include: David Thompson, Kareem, Dennis Johnosn, George McGinnis, Paul Westphal, Maurice Lucas, Julius Erving, George Gervin, Bob Lanier, Elvin Hayes, Moses Malone, Calvin Murphy and Pete Maravich. On the front left tail of this blue knit, is the Sand Knit label with EAST SIDE dist. Inside the neck, is another Sand-Knit label, with a size 46 flag tag next to it. Team name (WEST) across the chest and player number (53) below that and on the back, and player name (GILMORE) across a red strip on the back - all done in white vinyl. Red and blue stars surrounding. Inside the back waistband of the shorts is a Sand-Knit label with EAST SIDE dist. Below that is a wash tag, another Sand-Knit label and a size 35 tag. Red and blue stars across the front. This uniform is properly tagged, presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate wear, with a small tear in the seat of the shorts. Accompanied by an Artis Gilmore LOA.
