HOFer, Dennis Potvin’s jersey #5 was retired by the Islanders on February 1, 1992 - the first such honor bestowed by the franchise. In 1998, he was ranked 19 on The Hockey News’ list of the 100 Greatest Hockey Players. SHER-WOOD PMP stick. Player name (POTVIN) stamped atop the shaft, with player number (5) handwritten in faded red marker beside it. White handle tape and black blade tape. Stick marks and wear throughout. This stick is properly marked, presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Sourced from the Islanders' visitor locker room stick boy / attendant of the time.
