During his 19 year career, Yogi Berra cemented himself as one of baseball’s greatest players. Berra still holds the record for most World Series titles at 10, and was able to achieve the fall classic stats of 14 appearances, 75 games played in and 71 all-time hits. This circa 1950 Draper & Maynard Catcher’s mask has been attributed to Berra by John Taube of JT Sports. Taube details that the mask originates from Berra’s neighbor who was gifted the mask. Berra usually wore Spalding masks but there are images available showing him with a similar cast iron/magnesium mask. The hall of famer has autographed the front of the mask in silver ink and in our opinion the autograph rates a 9. Due to limited images and information this mask has been presented to us as game-issued. Accompanied by LOAs from JT Sports, PSA/DNA (for the autograph) and a full JSA LOA (with a cert sticker on the reverse side of the mask).
