Two Rodeo Championship belt buckles won by famed actor James Caan. The first is a 1972 Golden State Rodeo Company Champion Team Roper buckle with Caan's name on the front. It is stamped Sterling on the reverse side. The other is a 1978 Tri State Champion buckle from a tournament held on the 4th of July, 1978 in Bethany, CT, also stamped Sterling. The actor, best known for playing Sonny Corleone in The Godfather, became interested in the sport of rodeo after appearing in 1969s The Rain People, saying he found the lifestyle to be less fake than the one he experienced in Hollywood.
