Hiedo Nomo was an NPB baseball legend and then exploited a loophole to free himself from his contract, and became the first Japanese Major Leaguer to permanently relocate to MLB in the US - paving the way for the likes of Ichiro and Ohtani. In the MLB, he was an All-Star in 1995, as well as the NL ROY, a 2x strikeout leader and threw two career no-no’s. In 1995, he struck out 11.01 batters per 9, to break Sandy Koufax’s single-season franchise record of 10.546 in 1962. Inside the back tail, is the MLB Diamond COLLECTION / RUSSELL ATHLETIC size 50 label, with 100% POLYESTER tag attached, and a year tag below (1995). Team name (Dodgers) in blue Dodger twill. Player number (16) below in red. Player name / number (NOMO) (16) on the back, in blue Dodger twill on white tackle twill. Nomo has largely signed the back tail, in black marker, in our opinion rating a 7. This jersey is properly tagged, presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent wear. Accompanied by a Henderson LOA.
