Lou Brock was much more than a stolen base specialist. And by the end of his spectacular 19-year big league career, Brock was recognized as one of baseball’s most complete – and clutch – players of the 20th Century. In 1974, the 35-year-old Brock mounted a successful challenge to Maury Wills’ 12-year-old stolen base record, amassing 118 steals while finishing second in the NL MVP voting. Brock was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1985 in his first year of eligibility, becoming just the 20th player elected in his first year on the ballot. Inside the tail is the Rawlings size 42 label, with a ‘SET 2 #8P 1974’ tag attached. Cardinals bird-on-bat logo across the chest. Player number (20) below that and on the back, and player name (BROCK) across the back - both done in red on navy tackle twill. NOB has been restored. Brock has signed and inscribed the the front ‘Lou Brock 5/10/1974’, in black marker, in our opinion rating a 7. This jersey is properly tagged, presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent wear, with some fraying to the numbering/lettering and the top of the ‘C’ on the back is starting to separate. Accompanied by a PSA ALOA.
