First ballot Hall of Famer Derek Jeter received 99.7% of the voting. “The Captain” of the historic franchise spent his entire career with the Yankees. Jeter played his final career game on September 28th, 2014 at Fenway Park against the rival Boston Red Sox. In the 3rd inning, Jeter recorded his final career hit on an infield single which also gave him his final RBI. After reaching first base, Jeter was removed from the game, ending his playing career. The Red Sox crowd and players showed their appreciation for Jeter with a standing ovation as he exited the field. Presented here is that first base and the last base Jeter ever touched. The base shows great game-use with dirt staining throughout the top. Two of the sides feature special “BOSTON RED SOX VS YANKEES SEPTEMBER 26-28, 2014” logos as well as a Derek Jeter logo. Written on the bottom of the base is “1st” in red marker indicating the base as well as a MLB hologram with serial number “EK626402”. A truly historic piece from the final hit of one of the game’s greatest Hall of Famers.
