Fred ‘Scarecrow’ Biletnikoff popularized the use of Stickum, an adhesive that many players applied to their hands to assist with catching and gripping the ball. He would apply the substance all over his body and uniform prior to a game, a practice that was later picked up by Raiders cornerback Lester Hayes after Biletnikoff introduced him to it. Stickum was later banned by the NFL. On the front left tail of this black mesh jersey, are two Sand-Knit labels. One is the ‘Exclusive’ tag and the other with size: LARGE (42-44) and wash instructions. Player number (25) is done on the front/back and both sleeves. Player name (BILETNIKOFF) on a black nameplate across the back. The jersey features a one year style vinyl letters and numerals used by the Raiders in 1974, along with various other pro teams. The neck and arms are custom cut as per player specifications and there is a repair present on the collar. This jersey is properly tagged, presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent wear.
