The 1958 NFL Championship Game was the 26th NFL championship game and is widely known as “The Greatest Game Ever Played”. The Baltimore Colts defeated the New York Giants 23–17 in the first NFL playoff game to end in a sudden-death overtime. This lot features a piece of wood chipped off the goalpost that has been painted with “1958 Colts World Champions'', followed by “Colts 23 Gaints 17” (Giants is spelled incorrectly on the goalpost wood chip). Also included is a letter addressed to Colts fans from the Pennsylvania Railroad providing special instructions for transit to and from Yankee Stadium.
