Kobe Bryant is considered one of the greatest players in basketball history and during his 20 year career with the Los Angeles Lakers he won five NBA championships. Bryant tragically passed away in a helicopter accident in 2020 and was posthumously voted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Kobe got his first signature shoe with Adidas only a year after starting his NBA career but quickly switched to Nike. The Kobe IX shoes were originally released in 2014. The pair featured in this lot is a low cut player sample model in Kobe’s size (14). The shoes are in the “DEEP GARNT/MTLIC GLD” colorway. The inner tag reads “PROMO SAMPLE20130724”. Both shoes have been autographed by Kobe Bryant in silver marker and in our opinion the autographs rate an 8. Each shoe has a separate PSA LOA the left shoe’s certification is “AN07968” and the right’s is “AN07967”. The shoes are accompanied by the original box with a white player sample label that differs in design from the retail boxes at the time.
