In 1978, Dent was the unlikely hero in the playoff game against Boston when his short three-run home run changed the course of the game as the Yankees went on to win 5-4. His fine play continued when he was named World Series MVP as the Yankees won their second straight championship with Dent at shortstop. In the neck of the jersey is the "Wilson" label and size "42." Below this is a blue label reading "83 1" denoting the year and set number. The label is done in white chain stitch. Across the front of the shirt is "Texas" in white on red tackle twill. On the left breast is the "TR" logo in red/white/blue embroidery. On the back of the jersey is a blue nameplate with "Dent" in white tackle twill. Below this is the player number "7" in white on red tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
